U12 Division 1 girls were in action for the second time of their season on Sunday.
They played Aisling Annacotty B, from Limerick in superb conditions in our home pitch at Tim Fitzgerald Park, Charleville. With 14 girls in attendance for this game, our panel was strong at all times with plenty rolling on and off of substitutes throughout the game.
Both teams started well and defended at all stages to have a score of Nil, Nil at half time. All girls were tremendous in their positional roles and worked so hard at all times.
The second half opened up with Aisling Annacotty scoring two goals within the first ten minutes of the second half. However, Charleville didn’t give up and kept working the ball into the forward line where Lauren Finucane took the ball on with her, kept going and scored two brilliant goals within a couple of minutes of each other. Two goals each, Aisling Annacotty had tip off and unlucky for Charleville, a break was made by one of their players and with a few minutes to go, the final goal went in.
Our Charleville girls never gave up and continued to try and get the ball down to their forward line and unfortunately, time just ran out and the girls were unlucky to lose 3-2. Brilliant effort by everyone and the girls look forward to their next league game on Sunday, 13th November against Holycross in Holycross.
