It’s been a busy time at the club grounds, we have carried out ground works to our main pitch which has included the scarifying of the surface to remove unwanted thatch and dead grass allowing for healthy root growth and improved drainage. The spreading of 60 tonnes of high quality Wexford sports ground sand, Aeration of the soil to help relieve soil compaction, this allows proper air, water and nutrient movement and stimulates root development. We have sprayed for weed control and will be applying a fertilizer in the next few days after the aeration to move nutrients immediately into the root zone to promote healthier growth. We look forward to seeing a top class surface in the coming weeks for our members to enjoy. The hard work was put into this pitch many years ago by a small few hard working committee members and it’s the present committee’s job to ensure we maintain the highest standards going forward.
We are also in the process of upgrading our car park lighting to more efficient, natural LED lighting to give a superior light during the winter months for our members attending training in Charleville community sports complex.

We will continue to invest in our club at Tim Fitzgerald Park to give our member’s @Charlevilleafc the best possible experience both on and off the pitch. This includes our hopes to complete phase 2 of the tarmacadam project in our car park and the drive way entrance. The first phase was a huge success and we look forward to completing the project as soon as possible. Our online grassroots fundraiser is the main contributor to complete phase 2 of the car park and all support would be greatly appreciated.
