Kilfrush Crusaders 3-2 Charleville AFC
Our 2nd match in 4 days took us to Elton to take on local side Kilfrush Crusaders.
A very even and highly entertaining first half saw the sides drawing 1-1 at the break, the Charleville goal clinically despatched by Cathal Curtin with excellent link up play between Stephen Mchugh and Noah Finn.
We started well in the second half looking for the lead goal but were ruthlessly punished on the counter with a well taken goal from the home side. We recovered well from this setback and got our equaliser with 4 minutes to go with a superb free kick from Charlie O’Mahony which found the roof of the net from all of 30 yards. Alas, heartbreak was to follow as we searched for winner we were once again caught on the break and Kilfrush scored their winner with virtually the last kick off the game.
Another fine performance from this group of lads and very unlucky not to come away with all something from this game.
