Holycross 1 Charleville AFC 2
The Youths went top of the league as they defeated previous league leaders Holycross last Sunday.
The lads went down 1-0 within the first few minutes after a smart through ball was played in for the home sides winger to put away into the bottom right. However, this did not affect the boys as they fought back quickly with a goal 10 mins later. This was cleverly dispatched by Adam O Connor into the top left as it looped over the goalkeeper following the delivery in from Aaron Moffatts in swinging corner. Briefly before half time Charleville took the lead with a powering header from Dion Curtin into the roof of the net after another great ball in from the corner by Aaron Moffatt.
The second half led to nothing exciting as the boys held out for a very important 3 points in a tuff battle with Holycross. Man of the match on the day was Colin Quaid after he put in a hard working shift while also showcasing his technical ability on the ball.
