On Saturday evening last our U13 Girls Premier League squad travelled to Aisling Annacotty in a top of the table showdown.
We started slowly with Annacotty dominating the early exchanges which resulted in them taking the lead midway through the 1st half. With a formation change the girls now began to grow in confidence and Leah Ryan scored a great team goal to leave the half time score 1-1.
After the break we got into our stride scoring 2 great goals….. Alex Foley scoring her first competitive goal for the club, and Roisin Walsh scoring another in quick succession. Not be outdone Annacotty scored again, and really pushed us all the way to the very end. However this team refuse to be beaten, and the character and work rate they displayed throughout the match was enough to secure this vital victory.
All girls in the squad fully contributed to this result. Two games left… our destiny is in our own hands..
