Charleville AFC claimed all 3pts in hard fought victory away to Moyross last Sunday morning. An early goal by top scorer Shane Dillon gave Charleville the lead only for the home side to hit back and level the scores from the penalty spot. Cian McNamara restored our lead only for Moyross to level things up again this time from a long-range free kick and things got worse for the Charleville side as they went behind just before half time when the home side broke with pace to score from close range.
The score remained 3-2 until 20 minutes to go, when Donal O’Connell climbed highest to score with a header from a Gary Ward corner, and O’Connell was involved again 5 minutes later when he was fouled in the penalty area for Dillon to claim his 2 nd of the game from the penalty spot and to put Charleville back in the lead. Charleville pushed on in the final 10 minutes and scored 2 more goals from Dillon and O’Connell to wrap up the win in fine style. The result saw Charleville return to the top of the league with 5 games to go.
