Charleville AFC 2 Regional United 1
All 18 Charleville girls put in an excellent performance today to secure a 2-1 home win against a strong Regional side.
The passing and movement in this game was excellent and the girls showed how much they have progressed in recent months.
After dominating play in the early stages we were unlucky not to find the net early on, with the Regional defence putting up firm resistance and shots going narrowly wide. We eventually broke the deadlock with Ciara Bresnan sending a bullet to the corner of the net to give the girls a well-deserved lead before half time.
Regional came much more into the game in the second half but couldn’t find a way through our defensive line. We were always dangerous going forward and Hazel Mortell as reliable as always in front of goal put us 2-0 in front. Regional kept on battling and pegged a goal back in the closing minutes but Charleville ran out deserved winners on the day.

Well done to the girls who attended U12 Limerick County trials in recent weeks, all can be very proud of how well they represented themselves and the club. Best of luck to Regional for the rest of the season.
