We travelled to Elton Sports field Saturday last for our match against Kilfrush. The lads were keen to get back to playing football after two months without a game. The enthusiasm and determination were there on the day, but the opposition was just too strong. The first half saw Kilfrush dominating possession, and our lines of defence were broken several times despite the heroic efforts of our back line and our talented keeper Luke Crotty.
The second half was much improved, with the lads chasing down many attacks. Eventually we got some reward with a counter attack that saw Kaua Alves play a stylish dink over the last line of Kilfrush defence and slot the ball past the keeper. Although disappointed, the lads look forward to our next match.
