Charleville ladies began their League campaign away to current champions Abbeyfeale. Charleville started the game brightly and showed huge hunger and desire to work and win every ball that was played on Sunday morning. The Charleville ladies played over every blade of grass on the pitch in that game and should have been justified in getting the points. Mid way through the first half a half cleared defensive ball from Charleville landed at the feet of the Abbeyfeale striker and she carried her solo run into the Charleville box and hit the net with her effort to put the champions up a goal to the good. Charleville worked tirelessly as they had been all game but couldn’t find the correct final pass to get that equalising goal. Amy Jenks was once again superb in goal with some fantastic saves. The final whistle blown with Abbeyfeale sighing a breath after getting the three points in what was a battle of a game.
