LCDUL APPROVED AS FAI LEAGUE CENTRE FOR UNDER 14 & UNDER 16 SCHOOLGIRLS FOR
2010/11
In line with the FAI's commitment to promote the girls game our league was
recently approved by the FAI Women's Unit to host league centres at Under 14
and Under 16 levels. Preparations are now underway to begin the Centres and
the League Committee has approved Joe McCormack and Imelda O'Hanlon as
coaches of the Under 16 centre with Pat Dunne appointed Under 14 coach. Our
league centres will be linked to the FAI Girls Emerging Talent Programme and
competitive matches will take place between other league centres around
Ireland.
TRIALS FOR UNDER 16 LEAGUE CENTRE
Clubs are invited to nominate girls who they feel are of the required
standard to take part in trials for inclusion in the FAI LCDUL Under 16
League Centre. The trial takes place in Kilmallock Utd AFC grounds this
Saturday evening, September 4th from 5.30pm to 7pm. It is important to point
out that the FAI has laid down certain criteria regarding player attendance
at these approved league centres so only those girls who can commit to
attending should be nominated for trials. Please contact Joe McCormack

players.
FAI Girls League Centre
Our league has invited by the FAI to host an FAI Girl's League Centre in the Under 14 and Under 16 age groups. Girls born in 1997 and 1998 will be eligible for the Under 14 league centre. Girls born in 1995 and 1996 will be eligible for the Under 16 league centre. It is planned to get these centers up and running during September 2010 and applications are now invited from persons interested in coaching positions in either of the age groups. Certain criteria has been set down by the FAI regarding the running of the league centers, especially in regard to the need for appropriate coaching qualifications and also the requirement that coaches involved in league centers cannot coach at that age group within a club. The closing date for the receipt of applications is Thursday, 19th August 2010.
