Castle Commits as Charleville AFC reappoint Adam Castle as first team manager for the 2017/18 Season
The club are delighted to announce the reappointment of Adam Castle as first team manager for the 2017-18 season. Adam was appointed in May 2016 and is coming to the end of his 1st season in charge, having secured promotion back to the Limerick District Premier League with games to spare it has allowed us the opportunity to bring forward discussions that would normally take place after the season has come to a close. This early decision will allow Adam and his assistant Darren Hedderman to start on squad strengthening early ahead of next season’s new challenges. Castle remarked: “I’m happy that we have agreed a way forward for next season this early. I met with Kevin (Chairman) recently and we had a good discussion on what my personal ambitions are and what the ambitions of the club are over the next 3 to 5 years, although there is much work to do on and off the pitch in terms of recruitment the club is certainly moving forward, it has a strong squad of players and facilities to be proud of which is a credit to those running the club past and present. We have plenty of work to do in the summer in order to keep us moving forwards but myself, Darren and Kevin are ready for this challenge” Chairman Kevin Buckley added “Everyone at the Club is delighted Adam has agreed to remain on as our Junior 1st team manager, to secure his services for the future was our number 1 goal and we all look forward to working with him in the coming seasons. I know he is as ambitious for our Club as we all are. We have seen Adam bring a tremendous spirit and work ethos to our Club. He has built a squad of youth and experience and this season we have enjoyed watching some wonderful football. It is great news that Adam’s assistant Darren Hedderman has also given his commitment to continue working with the club as he is a very valued member of the 1st team set up. Next season will be a big step up both on and off the pitch as we move back to the Premier League and we would ask all our club members to get behind Adam and Darren to help them in any way they can”.
